Department of Microbiology
Microbiology program originated from the Department of Microbiology established in 1984. Since the first class of 1985, hundreds of graduates have played important roles in microbiology-related industries and research institutes in Korea. The Department of Microbiology together with the Departments of Biology and Biochemistry formed the School of Life Sciences in 1996. The Microbiology major provides the students with various subjects in basic and applied microbiology together with extensive experiments. Microbiology majors are supported by NURI (New University Regional Innovation) with fellowships, travel funds, tutorship and other academic programs to help students be competitive in their future.
